Business First Tech Fund

Business phone plans with a device credit built in

Tech Fund plans carry the same calls, data and roaming as our SIM only plans, plus a one-off credit of $400 to $1,500 per service to put towards handsets and hardware. Equip a team without an upfront hardware bill.

HOW THE TECH FUND WORKS

A hardware budget that arrives with the plan.

The Tech Fund is a one-off credit applied at the start of your term, towards devices bought from us. It is per service, so the fund scales with the size of your fleet — twenty services on the 300GB plan over 36 months carries $30,000 of device credit.

01

Pick the plan, pick the term

The longer term carries the larger fund. A 36 month commitment lifts the credit by roughly half against 24 months, at the same monthly price.

02

Choose the hardware

Handsets, tablets and accessories. If what you choose costs more than the fund, you pay the difference upfront — there is no interest and nothing financed.

03

Refresh when it suits you

The credit is yours to spend at the start of the term, so device refresh follows your budget cycle rather than a carrier upgrade calendar.

All prices on this page include GST. International roaming charges are GST-free.

Early termination on a Tech Fund plan is 60% of the monthly plan fee for each month remaining, billed on the invoice after termination. That is higher than the 50% on a SIM only term, and it reflects the device credit paid to you upfront. Worth knowing before you commit to 36 months.

TECH FUND OR SIM ONLY

Which one is right for your fleet?

Same network, same inclusions, same pooled data. The only real question is whether you need hardware.

Take Tech Fund if you need devices

New starters, a fleet due for refresh, or handsets that have been limping along for four years. The credit covers hardware without an upfront invoice, and you keep the same plan inclusions either way.

Take SIM only if you already have handsets

Our SIM only plans are $15 to $40 a month cheaper per service for the same data and calls. On a fleet of twenty that is real money, so do not buy device credit you will not spend.

You can mix them on one account

Tech Fund for the people who need a new phone, SIM only for everyone else, all on the same billing account sharing the same data pool. Most fleets end up as a mix.

Data SIM only Tech Fund Difference Device credit
50GB $40 $55 $15 / month $400 – $600
100GB $50 $80 $30 / month $800 – $1,200
300GB $60 $100 $40 / month $1,000 – $1,500

Monthly prices per service, GST included. Device credit range reflects 24 and 36 month terms.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked.

What can the Tech Fund be spent on?

Devices purchased from us at the start of your term — handsets, tablets and accessories. It is a credit towards hardware, not a cash rebate or a bill credit. If the hardware you choose costs more than the fund, the difference is payable upfront.

Is the Tech Fund per service or per account?

Per service. Each Tech Fund plan on your account carries its own credit, so the hardware budget scales with the fleet. Ten services on the 100GB plan over 36 months is $12,000 of device credit.

Do I have to spend it all at once?

The credit is applied at the start of the term, so it is designed to be used when you set the services up. If you would rather stage a refresh across the year, tell us and we will structure the order to suit.

What happens if I cancel early?

Early termination on a Tech Fund plan is 60% of the monthly plan fee for each month remaining on the contract, charged on the invoice after termination. On a 36 month $100 plan cancelled at the halfway mark that is $60 times 18 months.

Can I get a Tech Fund plan month to month?

No. Tech Fund plans are 24 or 36 month terms, because the device credit is paid upfront against that commitment. If you need a short commitment, a SIM only plan with your own handset is the way to do it.

Is this a phone repayment plan?

No, and the difference matters. A Mobile Payment Plan spreads a device cost over 12, 24 or 36 months as a separate line on your bill. The Tech Fund is a credit — there is nothing financed and no separate device repayment to track. Under the Business First terms, Mobile Payment Plans are only available on month-to-month SIM only plans, which we do not sell in voice.

How does the data pooling work?

Max speed data from every Business First service on the same billing account — Tech Fund, SIM only and mobile broadband — goes into one pool used first-in, first-served. Once the pool is exhausted, services slow to up to 2Mbps. There is no excess data charge in Australia. Full detail on the Business First page.

Are these prices what we will pay?

These are the published rates. What you actually pay depends on the number of connections you run and the mix of plans, which is why there is a quote button rather than a buy button. Tell us the size of the fleet and we will come back with real numbers.
